Everything you need to know about paintless dent repair, hail damage, and insurance.

How long does paintless dent repair take?

In many cases, a small localized dent can be repaired within a few hours. For multiple dents, such as hail damage, the repair may take from one to 2–3 days, depending on the number and complexity of the dents.

Yes. PDR can be used on both steel and aluminum body panels. However, aluminum has its own repair characteristics and can be more challenging to work with, so the possibility of repair is determined after evaluating the specific damage.

Traditional PDR is designed for repairing metal body panels. Dents and deformations in plastic parts, such as bumpers, require different repair techniques.

No special preparation is required. We recommend bringing the vehicle in clean or cleaning the damaged area beforehand so the technician can accurately assess the shape, depth, and number of dents.

Complete disassembly is usually not required. However, in some cases, interior door panels, the headliner, or other interior components may need to be temporarily removed to access the back of the damaged panel. All components are reinstalled after the repair is completed.

If your policy includes Comprehensive Coverage, hail damage is generally covered by insurance. The amount covered and your out-of-pocket costs depend on the terms of your specific policy and your deductible.

That depends on the terms of your insurance policy. A deductible is the amount you are responsible for paying before your insurance coverage applies. You can check the amount in your policy or confirm it directly with your insurance company.

Not necessarily, but there is no guarantee that your rate will remain unchanged. Hail damage is generally considered a comprehensive claim because it is not caused by an at-fault collision. However, whether a claim affects your future premium depends on your insurance company, your policy, and other factors.
